Senior Oracle Goldengate Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Oracle GoldenGate expert to lead replication and data integration initiatives for a large enterprise client. This is a deeply technical role for someone who has architected, deployed, and operated GoldenGate at scale in production environments. 

You will own the design, implementation, and operational health of GoldenGate-based replication pipelines supporting mission-critical workloads, and partner closely with database, infrastructure, and application teams. 

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement large-scale Oracle GoldenGate replication topologies across heterogeneous environments 

• Design and deploy capture, pump, and delivery processes; author and maintain parameter files and trail file configurations 

• Tune GoldenGate for high-throughput, low-latency replication on transaction-heavy systems 

• Troubleshoot production issues including replication lag, ABEND scenarios, conflict resolution, and supplemental logging gaps 

• Implement and maintain both GoldenGate Microservices Architecture (MA) and Classic deployments 

• Design DR, zero-downtime migration, and active-active replication patterns 

• Build monitoring, alerting, and automation around GoldenGate 

• Document standards, runbooks, and recovery procedures 

Required Qualifications

• ~10+ years of hands-on Oracle GoldenGate experience 

• Proven track record on large-scale enterprise GoldenGate implementations 

• Deep expertise across GoldenGate Classic and Microservices Architecture (12c, 19c, 21c) 

• Strong Oracle Database internals knowledge: redo/undo, supplemental logging, ASM, RAC, Data Guard 

• Experience with heterogeneous replication (Oracle to non-Oracle targets such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Kafka, BigQuery) 

• Solid scripting skills (Shell, Python) for automation and monitoring 

• Strong troubleshooting skills in complex production replication environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Cloud-based GoldenGate deployments or cloud-native data replication platforms
• Exposure to performance tuning and high-availability architectures in large-scale environments
